3 Body Sorun, based on Liu Cixin’s novel The Three-Body Sorun (the first in his Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy), features a planet-wide mystery. Top scientists are mysteriously dying and people start seeing an ominous countdown timer hovering in mid-air. There is a lot to unpack in the trailer and some of it only flashes up briefly, but there are some striking shots of the night sky flickering on and off, a large shape moving through the clouds, and a giant ring hovering above Earth that creates a sudden blue flash.
